INDY NXT Stars Set for Chris Griffis Memorial Test at IMS

The next generation of IndyCar hopefuls will take to the track on Monday, October 27 for the annual Chris Griffis Memorial Test, held on the road course at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Running from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET, the open test allows INDY NXT by Firestone teams and drivers to conduct evaluations and gain valuable experience on the 14-turn, 2.439-mile circuit. A staple in the development calendar, the test serves as both a proving ground for rookies and a tune-up opportunity for returning drivers.

The event is named in honor of Chris Griffis, the late team manager of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, who passed away unexpectedly in 2011. The test has since become a key fixture in INDY NXT’s off-season schedule, offering insight into the rising talent in American open-wheel racing.
